Green Circle Trail
The Green Mountain to Meadow Trail is a 3.5-mile, multi-use family-friendly trail that will enhance connectivity and accessibility for hikers, runners, and mountain bikers of all skill levels in Big Sky. Running parallel to the existing Mountain to Meadow trail, this new route offers a safer, more inclusive alternative—especially for beginners and families. The same trail builder of the recently revamped Mountain to Meadow trail, TerraFlow Trails, with construct this new trail over 8–10 weeks, with completion targeted for August 2025. The trail improves uphill travel and addresses safety concerns caused by speed and skill differences between riders on the existing Mountain to Meadow trail. Identified as a priority by SWMMBA Big Sky, this trail fills a critical gap in the trail system between Big Sky Resort and Town Center.
This project also promotes environmental stewardship through sustainable construction and long-term volunteer maintenance. The trail will integrate with Mountain to Meadow and Huff’s Trek, using existing infrastructure and trailhead parking. Supported by SWMMBA and BSCO's Parks and Trails team, this project reflects a community-driven effort to improve trail safety, expand recreation opportunities, and strengthen Big Sky’s trail network.
Trail specifications will generally be as follows: 18,480 linear feet of trail (3.5 miles), an average width of 72”, average grade of 5.5%, minimal switchback corners, gentle berms, long radius rollers, gentle tread outslope and minimal surface rock. All of these features will create what is a true beginner flow trail.

Jump Line
In addition to the new Green Circle Mountain to Meadow trail, a progressive seven feature jump line will be added to the end of the existing Mountain to Meadow Trail. The TerraFlow Trails crew will complete this project, with an expected completion date of early August 2025.
