Big Sky Chapter

The Big Sky chapter of SWMMBA was founded in 2020 to provide local leadership for Mountain Bikers in the Big Sky Community. This chapter of SWMMBA is focused on such great rides as Buffalohorn to Porcupine, Mountain to Meadow, Michener Creek, and many more in the local vicinity. With over 75 members, an engaged and dedicated Board of Directors, and hundreds of miles of trail, it’s no wonder why they are SWMMBA’s first chapter.

Big Sky Trails

Board of Directors

The Big Sky Chapter is governed by a local Board of Directors which prioritizes trail work projects, trail building projects, and coordinates fundraisers, trail rides, and public outreach to the local mountain bikers. Additionally, they work with local land managers to ensure that the trails are in tip-top shape for everyone exploring Big Sky. The Chapter Board is composed of: a President who also serves on the SWMMBA Board, a Development Director, a Trails Director, and a Secretary. These individuals spend a lot of time making sure that the Big Sky trails have the TLC they need. If you see them on the trails, thank them for their hard work!

President

Ashley Wilson

Ashley grew up in Michigan and spent most of her early years at different racetracks watching her dad race and enjoying time on the lake. Her passion for mountain biking started a few years ago on trails in Michigan and that love has grown with making the move to southwest Montana. Ashley lives in Big Sky and is the Controller for the Big Sky Community Organization. Ashley is grateful to be a part of SWMMBA and is excited to help grow the connections & partnerships with local organizations. She believes that together we can increase access to mountain biking, help bring more trails to Big Sky and surrounding areas, while advocating proper trail use and conservation. When she is not working or getting involved with the community, you can find her exploring with her husband and their husky, Juneau.
